Can the Handle on B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Hitch for a 2018 Ram 2500 Be Used From Side of Truck

I have a 2018 Ram 2500 4x4, I am thinking about buying BandW Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider - Dual Jaw - 18,000 lbs Item # BWRVK3270 as a replacement to my current hitch. I was wondering if you can reach the release arm locking pin by standing next to the truck? or will I need a stool or climb into the back of the truck? I am 510inch Thank you

The B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # BWRVK3270 is an excellent option for a 2018 Ram 2500 when used with the B&W Custom Installation Kit part # BWRVK2602. In regards to the latching handle, most will climb up onto the bedside (i.e. standing on the tire) in order engage or disengage but that is about the best I could do for you as the there are simply too many factors to be able to give you a clear, cut and dry answer.

I will however say that the B&W Patriot has a really smooth cam action so it takes very little force to engage or disengage.
