Do Grease Zerks Need to be Removed to Use Bearing Buddies
Question:
Michael, you advised Dave M to install bearing buddies if he can not obtain zerks for his Dexter trailer axel spindle. I have the same problem. If I decide to do that, does that require that both zerks be removed from that axel? Thank your for this and previous response.

You will need to remove your grease zerks in order to use a Bearing Buddy as the two are not compatible.
In order to get the right Bearing Buddies all you need to do is measure the hub bores on your trailer's hubs using digital caliper and match the hub bore diameter to the correct Bearing Buddies.
For example, the Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors - Model 2047 # BB2047 will fit a hub bore diameter of 2.047 inches while the Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors - Model 2441 # BB2441 fit a hub bore with a diameter of 2.441 inches.
I've added a link to our selection of Bearing Buddies for you to check out when you find the measurement or you can let me know what measurement you get and I'd be happy to find the right one for you.
