Troubleshooting No Brake Lights on Curt C56258 Harness on 2014 Lincoln MKZ
Question:
Trying to install your C56258 wiring harness on my 2014 MKZ. Everything is working except brake lights. Rechecked connections several time. I've test the harness at the plug with a circuit test and get the same results. Any advice?

It sounds like you're not getting a signal on the brake light circuit anywhere on the plug of the Curt # C56258 and there are a few things you can check out here.
I would start by just making sure that the ground wire is secured to a paint and rust free spot on the vehicle's frame; this all could just be a situation where the ground isn't sufficient to power the brake lights. Next, you'll want to start testing out the wiring behind the harness on the Curt # C56258 and then where it plugs into the light sockets to see if you can locate the issue along those spots. You'll want to use a circuit tester with a hook probe like the # PTW2993, and see if the signal is being lost somewhere on the harness. If you're not getting power anywhere on the harness, there is a chance that the harness is defective.
Let me know what happens when you check this out and I can continue helping you troubleshoot if this doesn't help!
