Should Electric Brake Assemblies or Just Shoes Need to be Replaced
Question:

Expert Reply:
If you have worn-out electric brakes what you will need to do is replace the brake assembly. The correct electric brakes are going to depend on the size of your drum as well as the brake mounting flange you have on your trailer.
For example the Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-7-SA fits 12" diameter x 2" wide drums and a 5-bolt brake mounting flange. These assemblies require mounting hardware # BRKH12.
The Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-35-SA is for 10" diameter x 2-1/4" wide drums and a 4-bolt mounting flange. For mounting hardware you'll need part # BRKH10B.
I have added a link to a video review as well as a link to our entire selection of electric brakes for you so you can find the right fit for your trailer.
