Recommended Bulldog Electric Winch Mounting in VW Caddy Van
Question:
Hi I have a vw caddy van. Id like to mount a small winch Item # BDW15019 On the van floor behind the seats to pull my vintage stationary engine up 6ft ramps The engine is on a wheeled trolley and weighs 661lb. Will this need to be bolted through the box section frame in vsn floor or can I get away with using a spreader plate under the floor pan?

The Bulldog Winch Trailer Winch - Wire Rope - Roller Fairlead - 4,400 lbs # BDW15019 will be fine using a spreader plate to that light a load. If you were going to be closer to be closer to the capacity or if the engine weren't on a wheeled trolley, then I'd recommend making sure the frame was connected to. With your current setup the spreader plate is all that is necessary.
