Bike Rack Recommendation for Townie Go 8D Bikes to Clear Exhaust on 2018 Mazda CX-5

Question:

I have a Townie Go 8d step over, no fenders and a townie Go 8i step through with fenders. I am looking for a rack for a 2018 Mazda CX-5. Which one do you recommend? Im also concerned about possible exhaust damage. Thanks!

For your situation I recommend using the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13315 with the Thule EasyFold XT # TH903202 because from what I could find it looks like the top of the exhaust on your 2018 Mazda CX-5 will sit about 3-1/2" above the top of the hitch receiver, and the place where the wheels on your bikes will sit on the EasyFold XT will be about 5" above the hitch receiver. This gives you about 1-1/2" of clearance over the exhaust.

That coupled with the clamps that secure the step-thru and step-over frame designs of your Townie Go 8D bikes, and the 65 lb weight capacity makes this the best choice for you.
