Can MaxxTow Dual Hitch Receiver be Used to Raise Height of Cargo Carrier on 2020 Kia Telluride

Question:

Hello! I am driving a 2020 Kia Telluride. The rear of the vehicle tends to sag when loaded up with a lot of cargo and limits ground clearance. I use a cargo carrier and have rubbed the pavement a few times. I understand the top receiver of this product is not meant to be used for towing but can I use it for my cargo carrier to provide additional ground clearance? Thanks!

You can, but it's worth noting that the MaxxTow Dual Hitch Extender MT70070 will reduce the weight capacity of your trailer hitch by 50% so if you're already hitting the ground with your 2020 Kia Telluride then I'm not sure if this will improve anything.

In all honesty it would be much more effective if you were to transfer that extra weight to a different part of your vehicle like your roof with a roof rack system or a more cost effective cargo bag like part # RL100A50 that uses clamps to secure inside your door jamb.

If you want to go with the roof rack and maybe a basket or box let me know, but if you choose to go with the bag then I recommend also using the Non-Skid Roof Protection Pad # RL100650 which helps keep the bag secure and helps to guard against scratches on your vehicle.
