Yes, the factory trailer lighting circuits can be bypassed on a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 and it is actually rather commonly done due to the error ridden TIPM and its cost to fix or replace. In order to do this you'll need the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # C55504. If you need a 7-way then you'll also need the Universal Install Kit part # ETBC7.
