Troubleshooting Weight Distribution Shank Option to Replace Odd Size
Question:
Hi, I recently bought a used weight distributing hitch that felt a little small in my hands. When I got it home I realized the shank is 1 3/4 inches square. Not 2inch and not 1 1/4, 1 3/4 inches. is there an adapter that will allow me to use this part or do I have an anchor? Thanks for your help,

I haven't heard of any weight distribution system with a 1-3/4 inch shank and there isn't an adapter. If the shank at the end where the head attaches will accept a 2 inch width and has the standard 1-1/4 inch on center adjustment increments then a replacement shank is an option, but if not you have an anchor or you will require a custom fabricated shank.
My recommendation for a replacement shank is the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution Shank - 12" Long - 6-1/2" Rise, 4" Drop - 1,200 lbs TW # FA92-02-4100. This has the standard measurements to make it compatible with almost all systems.
