How to Prevent Trailer Sway Without Using a Weight Distribution System

Question:

I have a 3/4 Suburban that I pull my 30 ft travel trailer with. I have Firestone airbags installed on the Suburban. The air bags level the truck just fine and the truck pulls it fine. There is enough sway that it makes my wife a little nervous when she is driving. I had hoped not to have to install a cumbersome load distribution hitch with having the air bags installed. Is there a good way to have antisway without a load distribution hitch? I think the load distribution would be redundant with the air bags and just add complication on hook up and maneuvering the rig. Help?

The best way to prevent the sway you are experiencing without having to buy anything or deal with a cumbersome weight distribution system is to move as much weight as you can forward in the trailer to increase tongue weight and also make sure the trailer is sitting as level as possible.

To prevent sway that starts from wind gusts or passing semi trucks a friction sway control unit like part # 83660 is a much simpler way to help. I attached a review video for this for more info on it as well.
