Trailer Brake Controller Wiring Harness Location on a 2012 Toyota Tacoma with Manual Transmission
Question:
I would like to know where the location of trailer wiring plug for 2012 Toyota Tacoma is for a MANUAL transmission. I see pictures where it is for the automatic transmission, but can not find it for a Manual.

Manual or automatic the brake controller port on the 2012 Toyota Tacoma should be in the same place. See instruction link for harness # 3040-P. It will only be there if the truck came with a factory 7-Way trailer connector. Otherwise you will need to hardwire in a brake controller and 7-Way.
If your truck has the factory 7-Way, sometimes the connector for the wiring harness is actually behind a kick panel on the driver side of the vehicle and you will have to remove it to find the connector.
If the truck does not have a factory trailer connector you will start by adding a 4-Way, if needed, # 118496, and then installing a 4 and 7-Way installation kit # ETBC7. I have included some links that will help with this installation.
