Installing a Wiring Harness for Trailer Lighting on a 1996 Subaru Sidekick

How to find the trailor light hook up location on a 1996 suzuki sidekick js, 4 doors, automatic, 1.6, 2x4,? Or, do I have to tap into the existing tail light harness?

You will need to use a Circuit Protected Taillight Converter, part # 119178KIT, and hard wire it into the existing vehicle wiring. The procedure for installing the converter is pretty simple. Simply access the wiring behind the taillight assemblies, and using the included circuit tester, locate the correct circuits to tap into.

You will see 5 blunt cut wires on the wiring harness. The functions of the wires on the wiring harness are listed below.

Brown - Tail Lights
Yellow - Left Turn Signal
Green - Right Turn Signal
Red - Brake Light
White - Ground
