Parts Needed to Convert a 4-way to a 5-way on a 2011 Ford Edge
Question:
I am going to install a Draw Tite hitch to my 2011 Ford Edge and my boat that I primarily pull has trailer brakes. It has the 5 flat connector on the trailer. Is there a harness with the 5-flat instead of the 4-flat?

Expert Reply:
To get a 5-way flat connector on your 2011 Ford Edge you are going to need to install the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring # 118515 and then install a 4 Pole to 5 Pole Trailer Wiring Adapter # 20036.
The # 20036 will plug into the 4-way of the # 118515 and then you will run the blue wire to the reverse light circuit of your vehicle and you will have a fully functional 5-way. You might need a circuit tester like our # 3808 to find the correct wire to tap into. Check out the installation video for this product that I attached.
