Trunk Mounted Bike Rack for 2006 Pleasureway RV on Ford E350 Cutaway Chassis

Question:

I need a bumper bike rack for my 2006 Ford Econoline E350 van base of a Pleasure Way class B RV... pretty much for 1 adult hybrid/street bike. Id carry it for long multi-day trips - want something that holds solid. Can you tell me what you have available to recommend for this? Thank you very much for your help.

As long as your bike weighs in at 35 lbs or less, the Hollywood Racks Gordo 2 bike carrier # HRG2 that you looked at would work well, as your motorhome retains the rear doors used on the van model. The rack will hold the bike tightly, and if properly adjusted the rack won't move on the vehicle. I've linked to a demonstration video featuring the rack.

However, since you seem concerned about the rack being rock solid, a trailer hitch and hitch mounted rack would preform the best for you. As long as the hitch mounting holes in the frame are 38-5/8 inches apart center to center (which they should be), the Curt # 14053 would be an inexpensive option with lots of capacity.

For a bike rack, the Inno Tire Hold, part # INH110 can handle bikes weighing up to 60 lbs and because it's a platform style bike rack, it'll be easier to load your bike than a trunk mount bike rack like the one you looked at. It's also fairly reasonably priced.

'll link you to a product demonstration video for the bike rack I recommended, as well as to an install video for the hitch I mentioned.
