Best Trailer Hitch and Cargo Carrier for 2018 Ford Ecosport

Question:

Im going camping and need some extra space, I would like to know the best combo, I have a 2018 ford ecosport 2 wheel drive. If the hitch tongue has a weight capacity of lets say 350 lbs, does the weight of the cargo carrier play a factor in that estimate? and also what are the weights of some of your cargo Carriers? I couldnt find that info.

In order to install a cargo carrier on a 2018 Ford Ecosport to free up some space inside the vehicle you'll first need to start with a trailer hitch for which I recommend the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 36660 because it offers an easier installation. The Draw-Tite hitch has a 350 lbs tongue weight capacity.

Then, you can attach a cargo carrier with a 1-1/4" shank, the 17x46 Curt Cargo Carrier part # C18145 is the lightest option we offer at about 25 lbs. The weight of said carrier would need to be deducted from the tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch. I have attached a full list of options below.
