Recommended 25-1/4 Long Leaf Springs for Boat Trailer with 6K Axle

Question:

I have a boat trailer with a 6000 lb axle but only have a load of 3500 lbs boat full of fuel and a few hundred additional lbs leeway, the trailer might weigh 500 lb plus. I do have a 4 leaf spring setup. My centers are 25-1/4inch relaxed actually 25-3/4inch but theyre a bit worn. One spring is nearly flattened the other looks normal. I want a new pair. I have a 4inch 2x 3inch rectangular tube axle with the springs mounted above the the axle. I am uncertain about choosing a good replacement for my needs and need help choosing what lb should each leaf spring be without overdoing it and making it too stiff a ride? Thanks in advance

Generally speaking, leaf spring are chosen based on length (unloaded) and the axle capacity. The 5-Leaf Double-Eye Spring part # e34SR would match this criteria as it is rated for a 6,000 lb axle but we also have the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring part # e28SR that would work as well and not be as stiff as it is rated for a 5,000 lb axle.
