Locking Knob for Wheel Holder for Swagman G10 Bike Rack
Question:
Im trying to find information on the threaded bolt for this part. The threaded bolt tightens up around the metal bar of the bike rack, where the knob is connected to. Im thinking of replacing the knobs with locked knobs, specifically: https://www.etrailer.com/p-P1040.html This would secure the wheel mounts, as well as add another layer of protection alongside the steel cable that prevents someone from loosing the wheel mounts and moving them over, ping the bikes away from the hooks. The threaded bolts the locked knobs accept are M10 x 1.50. The bike rack is: S64682 Is this possible to do? Thank you.

We tested out the Replacement Locking Knob # P1040 on the Swagman Current # S64678 which uses the same style cradle as your G10 # S64682 and it didn't work. The bolt that comes with the standard cradle is too small to thread into the Locking Knob. A M10 x 1.50 bolt would be required to make this knob fit. You would have to provide your own hardware and potentially enlarge the hole on the cradle to work. Enlarging the hole improperly could lead to premature wearing of the cradle itself.
