Using Bike Rack with HT02 Hitch Reducer
Question:
I have this 7 inch adapter on my hitch. The shank of my bike rack only goes in 3 inches. The shank is solid steel. Is that enough to hold two bikes? Should I be concerned that the shank only goes in 3 inches?

Helpful Expert Reply:
That't just fine. As long as the reducer like # HT02 is properly pinned into the hitch and the shank of your bike rack is pinned into the reducer, all is well and secure. As opposed to a hitch adapter, using a reducer will not decrease the weight capacity of the hitch.
