Hydraulic Surge Conversion To Electric on Trailer with 3,500 lb Axles

Question:

I have a double axel hydraulic surge drum brake system on a 12x6 utility trailer. The Atwood 61101 actuator needs replaced. The hydraulic cylanders look shot on all 4 10 drums and unsure about pressure for lines. Would it be better/Cheaper to switch to electric breaks for only the rear. Hauling utv. I already have break controller on truck. The bearing size is L44649. Looking for suggested parts for either option.

Converting to electric brakes would be pretty easy as it would be just a matter of replacing the brake assemblies with electric ones and running some 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 to the assemblies.

The easiest assembly set would be the part # AKEBRK-35-SA which are self adjusting. These will work great with your current drums as well.
