Determining Trailer Hitch Ball Mount Rise Needed for Trailer Compatibility

Question:

The convert-a-ball ball mount for 2inch hitches says it has a 8 3/4inch rise and a 10inch drop. Where is that rise measured? Is the rise measured from the bottom of my 2inch receiver or the top of the 2inch receiver. The bottom of my receiver is 13inch off the ground, the 2inch ball I need is another 3inch in height and I need the top of the ball to be 24inch above the ground. Thank You for your help.

The Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 8-3/4" Rise - 10" Drop - 8,000 lbs # AMSC10 you referenced measures the rise from the inside top of the receiver to the top of the hitch ball platform not the top of the hitch ball itself because the coupler fits over it. I've attached an article to assist.

Use the article to help you with official measurements. Based on what you describe it sounds like you may need a 4 inch rise if I understand your measurements. I've linked the page to all your options, but if you are still unsure you can use an adjustable ball mount like # C45900. This also gives you the ability to tow other trailers level.
