How to Carry Spare Tire on Roof of 2019 Subaru Crosstrek

Question:

Would this accessory work with the 2019 hybrid Crosstrek roof rack? I realize the t slot mount may be different, but i am trying to find something that would work for a spare tire up top. I already have Thule cargo basket. And yeah, maybe i should have gotten the Yakima basket... Regardless, any thoughts on using this with the my set up?

I have a solution for you but I don't think the Rhino Rack Platform-Style Spare Tire Carrier # SPWC is ideal for your roof rack or Thule Basket. The Yakima Spare Tire Carrier for Yakima Roof Cargo Baskets # Y07076 is designed to work with Yakima baskets but it should also work with your Thule Roof Basket. You may need to drill new holes to make the spacing work between bars.

Another option that doesn't require drilling is the Yakima Spare Tire Carrier # Y05032. This is intended to use with the LockNLoad Platform Rack # Y05044-39 but you could still make this work by not using the eyebolts and just use the hooks to secure around your roof baskets bars.
