I see multiple questions answered about the Thule Weekender Cargo Box being pointed to TH04887 as replacement mounting hardware. Is it every recommended to use 1032802?

Yes, it just depends on what box you have.

If you have the Thule Weekender Cargo Box the correct replacement hardware is # 1032802.

If you have the Thule Adventurer Cargo Box the correct replacement hardware is # TH04997.

According to Thule you can use the QM3 mounting hardware, #TH04997, for the Weekender cargo box. The crossbars on your 1998 Toyota 4Runner will need to be up to 3-5/8 inches wide. I have included a picture that shows how this hardware will install.
