Should Jet Ski Trailer Tires be Inflated to Max Tire Pressure
Question:
The tire says Max pressure 60PSI if Im traveling at 70 miles an hour for about 85 miles what should I have the air pressure at ? There is only 35PSI in it now

Expert Reply:
Trailer tires need to be inflated to their max psi rating listed on the sidewall when cold to ensure you get the full weight capacity of the tire as well as prevent heat build up due to excessive side wall flex. So in your situation inflate the tires to 60 psi when cold and also be sure to stay under the speed rating of the tire as well. Don't worry about the psi increasing as they heat up as that's normal and accounted for when determining the capacity.
