Recommended Trailer Wiring and Brake Controller for 2015 Lexus RX 350

Question:

I have a 2015 Lexus RX 350 with pre-prep towing package added a 3500 lbs hitch and plugged into the 4 pin connector for the trailer lights. Now I want to tow 3500 LBS RV WITH 7 PIN connector and electric brakes. Can I simply use a 4 pin to 7 pin adapter will it power the brakes? Do i need more amperage to operate the brakes do i need to go all the way and install a electric brake controller - and if so where do i connect to the brake pedal?

For your 2015 Lexus RX 350, I recommend adding the # ETBC7L to your current 4 way to give you the 7-way connection and the 12v power wire and circuit breaker. I then recommend using the Curt Echo # C51180 for your trailer brake controller which doesn't require any additional wiring into your vehicle. It captures the brake light signal and has an integrated inertia sensor to apply the brakes to your trailer when it senses the brake light.
