Removing Rear Storage Bin on a 2008 Toyota Highlander to Install a Trailer Wiring Harness
Question:
Im having a hard time getting the storage bin out to get to the connector. How is the best to get this out? I was able to get it up a little past the bolts on the bottom, but the center area is kind of holding the right side in. I didnt want to force it too much in fear of breaking it.

The storage bin on the left side of the cargo area on a 2008 Toyota Highlander is held in by the fasteners but it also has some tabs that fit into the side of the cargo area side panels. The resistance you are feeling is probably those tabs still holding on. Take a look at the video I have linked that shows our installer removing the bin to install the harness. He states that it has to be manipulated around the flooring to the right of it to get it to come out.
