Does Curt Fifth Wheel Hitch Need to Use Wedge When Connecting to 5th Airborne  

Question:

Im purchasing a used 37foot Carriage Cameo 5th wheel. its set up with the Fifth Airborne pin box. I see in the information for the Curt A20 Im ordering that I need an adapter wedge. I cant find it on your website so far. Thanks

If the pin box is a 5th AirBorne/Sidewinder which has a pivoting arm on it yes you do need a wedge with a fixed hitch. That said, the current version of the Curt A-Series hitches are not compatible with sidewinders.

Instead, you'll want something like the Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package - Slide Bar Jaw - 16,000 lbs # C16515-16021 along with the necessary Sidewinder Wedge # C16991 to keep the kingpin from rotating inside the hitch head.
