Availability of Hitch, Wiring, and Swagman Bike Rack For 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 Convertible
Question:
I just picked up my 2013 Gt500 Ford Shelby convertible. I would like to carry a couple of bicycles. I am concerned about the mention of requiring mods to the fascia to install this reciever. I am fine with bolt on, but not with cut and chop. Do you have a recommendation? I will most likely order one of the Swagman carriers as well, and of course a T-one connector for towing my Airstream! Thanks,

The Draw-Tite Class I 1-1/4 Inch Hitch, part # 24863, you have referenced will fit your 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 Convertible. It does not mention any cutting of the rear fascia. I am including a link to the installation instructions of the # 24863 hitch and it will show a picture of where the hitch will be located on the car in relation to the rear fascia.
For a Swagman hitch bike rack I would recommend the Swagman XTC-2 Platform Bike Rack, part # S64670. This is our most popular bike rack which allows you to easily mount two bikes and will leave plenty of room for you to access your trunk.
If you are looking at a hanging bike rack, I would recommend the Swagman Trailhead 2 Bike Carrier, part # S63360. We have received excellent reviews from customers on this bike rack.
I am including links to the installation instructions on both of the Swagman bike racks and a link to a video review of the # S64670 bike rack.
As far as towing your Airstream, the hitches available for your Mustang are all Class I hitches. A Class I hitch is only rated at 2,000 lbs gross towing weight capacity, plus the technical specs on the 2013 GT500 say that towing is not recommended. So I would not recommend to tow with your 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 convertible.
