Is there a Ladder Rack that Will Fit a 2009 Dodge Ram with a Tonneau Cover

Question:

This may be too general of a question, but have you seen these racks fit with a tunneau cover? 2009 Dodge Quad Cab Ram. Not seeing one of these racks in person makes it hard to judge, but seeing how the cover doesnt extend over the bed rails very far, Im thinking it might?

The Yakima ladder rack, # Y01137-Y00410, and most other ladder racks fit on top of the bed rails and wrap around to the inside of the bed on the sides of the rails so with a tonneau cover in place it would not work unless the cover was removed.

What I recommend is to sort of bypass the bed all together and use an alternate method. Start with a adding a 2 inch trailer hitch unless the truck already has one, see link. Then, you can use the Rhino-Rack T-Load, # RTL002. Then you could add a universal roof rack bar, # DTA968, or a custom fit roof rack, see link. With all of these parts installed, you can carry items just like if you had a ladder rack on the bed.
