Expert Reply:
For you 7x12 utility trailer, I recommend installing the E-Track Backing Plate - Zinc Plated Steel - 6-1/2" Long x 6" Wide - Qty 1 # e96RR for structural security. For your 12 foot length, I recommend using at least 4 of these as evenly spaced as possible and overlapping any seam where two tracks meet.
If you are using # E19148 you asked from then I recommend using 5 on each side. One on each far end, one the seam, and then one directly in between those plates.
You will simply use zinc plated hardware with locknuts to secure the plates. You will need the hardware to just be lightly thicker than the boards to allow for the metal plates and give full threads for the locknuts.
