Recommended Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch For 2020 GMC Sierra 3500 With In-Bed Puck System
Question:
Hi , I have a 2020 GMC 3500 HD Diesel with the standard box, short. It is equipped with the factory puck system. We are waiting for our 2020 Genesis 28IKS we ordered in February to arrive. The time is near and really need to get a hitch. This is our first fifth wheel and are a bit nervous about getting to close to the cab or hitting the cab. Should we get a sliding hitch or is it needed? Have been leaning towards the SuperGlide or the HitchHiker. These hitches are a bit more than a non sliding but far cheaper than repairs to the truck and or camper. Any advise would be very much appreciated.

For a 6 foot bed truck, a sliding hitch is always recommended unless the 5th wheel is equipped with a rotating pin box like the Reese Revolution.
The Demco Hijacker (which I think you meant instead of HitchHiker) Autoslide, part # DM8550034 along with the # DM6333 mount would be absolutely perfect for your new toy hauler. The hitch features a wrap around jaw that holds the king pin very tightly which greatly reduces the clanging and banging. The hitch will automaticlly slide rearward as the truck begins a turn and will slide back into place once the turn is completed. You'll never need to leave the truck to actuate the slider. I've linked you to a demonstration video and an install video, featuring the Hijacker Autoslide.
If you don't already have a 7-way connector installed in your truck bed, you can install one using part # C56000.
