Can the Hopkins Endurance Easy-Pull Harness Be Installed On Trailer With Two Brown Wires (Wishbone)
Question:
On my boat trailer I have a 4-pin flat plug. It is a wishbone style with 6 wires. It is the same type of plug as shown in eTrailer Item # A25W2GWB. I would like to convert the plug to a Hopkins Endurance Easy-Pull Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Connector - Trailer End - Jacketed - 48, Item # HM38134. Can you splice the wires coming from the trailer to accommodate just the four wires on the Easy -Pull plug? I know how to connect wires I just do not know if I can splice certain wires and not impact the lights on the trailer. Can I splice together the two brown wires tail lights and connect them to the one brown wire on the Hopkins plug? Could I also splice together the two white wires ground and connect them to the one white wire on the Hopkins plug? Thanks.

The Hopkins Endurance Easy-Pull Harness part # HM38134 can indeed be installed on a trailer with a wishbone wiring harness. In order to do this you would simply combine the like circuits together, therefore you would combine the two brown wires for the running light circuit as well as the two white wires for the ground circuit as well if present. The only thing you'd really need is some butt connectors, part # DW05744-10.
