Is Reverse Light Circuit Present on 7-Way to 5-Way Adapter

Question:

I recently purchased a new set of LED lights for a boat trailer that has the reverse lights incorporated in the tail lights. With that said, the wire harness has a 5-flat connector. My truck has both a 7-pin round, and a 4-way flat on the bumper. I ended up purchasing a 5-way flat to a 7-pin round adapter so I can use the reverse light feature. Question 1. will the adapter allow the reverse lights to work on the trailer or is there an extra step I will need to take? Question 2. there may be a time where I want to pull the boat with my other vehicle which does not have a 7-pin round, just a 4-way flat. can I splice in a 4-way flat connector to the harness of the trailer so I have the option?

As long as the reverse light circuit of your 7-way is active it will still be active when you convert it to a 5-way using your adapter without requiring any additional steps.

You'd be able to tow the trailer with just a 4-way like you mentioned but to have the reverse light circuit active too you'd need a 5-way adapter like part # 20036.
