Weight Distribution or Suspension Enhancement for my 1995 Ford F-250

Question:

Need recommendation please. I have a 1995 Ford F-250 7.5 v8 2wd with towing capacity of about 10,000lbs. I’m buying a 16’ Carson flatbed car hauler with GVWR of 7,000 lbs to haul a 1965 GTO weighing 3,500 lbs. cross country. I believe the empty weight of the trailer is around 2,000 lbs. Could you please advise of anti sway weight distribution setup if needed.

It appears all of your weights are inline. If you load your trailer with about 700 lbs of tongue weight sway will not be an issue. There is not a great deal of profile for wind or a passing semi to get a hold of or a weight issue your dealing with as you can move the car forward or rearward to get the right tongue weight.

With a tow rating of around 10,000 lbs. and a 5,500 lb. trailer you should not experience a great deal of sagging and I would not want to mess with weight distribution like the Curt MV Weight Distribution System part # C17051. This system matches your weight needs. Instead I would add support to the rear end of the truck.

Using the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System part # TFR150SDE will take up to 6,000 lbs. of the stress and strain off of the rear end of the rig and help to keep the wear and tear of the rear suspension and the sag to a minimum.

The benefit here is that when unloaded it doesn't have any effect on the truck. Load it back down and they are ready to go to work with no changes need to be made. Also they work for any trailer rather than only the one that the weight distribution brackets are on and also help when you've got a load in the bed.
