Brake Controller Installed on 2015 Toyota 4Runner Making Traction Control Light Go Off

Question:

So the track control warning is showing on my 4 runner. The trailer brakes work fine with the controller install. The warning light only comes on when I am moving . Not when I use the brake with trailer attached without moving. Still think it is the wiring? Thank you Regards, Daniel

How was the controller installed? If it was hardwired, you'll want to make sure the brake controller's red wire has been tapped into the correct circuit. If your 4 Runner is a 2008-2013, that red wire should tap into the green/yellow wire that exits the brake switch atop the brake pedal. If it's a 2014-2020, it'll be a blue wire.

If you're using a plug in harness, be sure you're using the 3041-P, as it's possible for the harness to fit into the connector, but not be pinned out properly.
