Yes, the Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole Vehicle End Trailer Connector # 30717 will work on your 2012 Chevrolet Colorado.
This is a universal part so it will work on any vehicle. You will need to have a 4-way connector on your Colorado as well to plug into this adapter, so if you don't have one the correct part for that is the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118301.
