Is 1,000 lb Fastway Weight Distribution Hitch a Good Option for 2021 Forest River Gray Wolf MKBL
Question:
I have a question regarding item FA94-00-1000. I will be towing a 2021 Forest River Gray Wolf MKBL with a 2019 Silverado. The RV dealer recommend this item however, I think they only carry this brand so I would like to get a second opinion. The trailer weight is 5063, tw 608. Obviously this will change once.i load the camper but, I dont expect to load anything behind the rear Axels of my truck and the distribution of the items I plan to carry in the camper should not drastically increase the Tung weight. Is this the right setup for my situation or are there other hitches I should consider?

I took a look at the specs of your 2021 Forest River Gray Wolf MKBL and it does have the 5,063 lb unloaded weight, with a GVWR (the max it can weigh when loaded) being 7,608 lbs. The GVWR is what you want to base the weight distribution system on, as your tongue weight is typically going to be around 12 percent or so of the GVWR, and the ideal system would be one in which your tongue weight falls somewhere in the middle of the weight distribution system's tongue weight capacity.
Since you mentioned you won't be putting any cargo behind your rear axles, your 2021 Forest River Gray Wolf MKBL will likely have a loaded tongue weight in the 900 or so lb range, making the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution with 2-Point Sway Control - Round # FA94-00-1000 a good choice.
The only upgrade I would consider is the same system but with trunnion bars instead of round bars, the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution with 2-Point Sway Control - Trunnion # FA92-00-1000.
The reason for that is trunnion bars are easier to install than round bars and the bars also have better ground clearance so you never have to worry about them contacting the ground. Both systems come with everything you need for the installation, though it is recommended you use thin-walled socket # EQ70-00-4800 to help install the hitch ball.
I have added a link to a video review for you to check out as well.
