Recommended 4 and 7-Way Trailer Connector for a 2005 Toyota Tacoma
Question:
My Question is i have a Toyota Tacoma 2005 it has the 7-way plug but its broken and i saw a video on where you connect a 7-way and 4-way plug. and would i need to cut the cables of the 7-way of my truck and connect to the 4-way one like in the video you have a 4-way? and just connect it just like that and mine doesnt because i have 7-way. And i want to know how to do it correctly. thank you

It sounds like you are just looking for a new trailer connector with both 4 and 7-way trailer connection points. For this, the Hopkins Endurance Multi-Tow Trailer Connector part # HM48470 is what I recommend. It comes with a new mounting bracket so all you'd need to do is cut off the old trailer connector and connects the wires to the back of the terminals on the new one.
