Trailer Hitch Receiver Fit for 2020 Hyundai Kona EV

Question:

Hi, I see you response about a 2018 Kona EV fit for a hitch mount bike rack and wonder if the same applies to the 2020 Kona EV. Will this same model fit? I also wonder if mounting that hitch, even if it is not supported for towing I just want it for bicycles as well, requires drilling which would void warranties I assume, or is a bolt-on model which I could remove when necessary? Thank you!

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT52GR is a confirmed fit for your 2020 Hyundai Kona EV. The reason I say "should be" is because Draw-Tite does not specifically mention the EV as a fit, but they do say it fits "all models" of Kona. Additionally, we did have a customer come back and send a review along with a photo showing it installed on their Hyundai Kona EV.

I have added a link to the installation instructions for the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT52GR.

This is a bolt-on installation but you will not want to take it on and off, you should definitely leave it on. Aftermarket accessories such as hitches do not void warranties however, because you are protected by what is called the Federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. This act says if something breaks on your vehicle and you take it in for warranty repair, the dealer must honor your warranty unless whatever you have added to your vehicle or its installation actually caused the problem in question.

If you are looking for something to carry bikes that you can simply take on and off, you can go with a trunk-mounted bike rack instead, the Yakima FullBack 2-Bike Rack # Y02634 or 3-Bike Rack # Y02633 or the Saris Bones 2-Bike Rack # SA805BL.

I have added links to video reviews of these racks to check out as well.
