Install Brake Controller on 2012 Ram 1500
Question:
I need to add an electric brake controller to my 2012 RAM 1500 ST. Are these two parts all I need: 1 Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional - 90885 2 Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers - Dodge - 3021-P And will it have instructions?

If your 2012 Ram 1500 ST has the factory 7-way trailer connector then yes, all you'll need is the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 and the # 3021-P brake controller wiring harness. The controller will plug into the connector located under the dash as shown in the provided photo.
If it has the factory 4 pin connector, you'll additionally need the brake controller install kit, # ETBC7. The brake controller would still plug in to the connector under the dash, but you'd use the kit to run the output circuit to the rear bumper and use the included adapter to convert the factory 4 pin to a 7-way.
If the truck has no trailer connector at all, the connector under the dash will not be present, and you'll hardwire the controller using the # ETBC7.
I've linked to a help article that explains how the install kit works, and have also linked to the instructions/owner's manual for the Prodigy P2.
