Replacement RV Landing Gear Motor for Atwood 75721

Question:

I am wondering if you could help me out. I have a 2013 Jayco Eagle 31.5 FBHS 5th wheel camper. It has electric landing gear on the front and we have noticed it is making a knocking noise when extending the landing gear. I researched the problem and found on your website that people have just replaced the gear box with an aluminum model just purchased off your site and actually it is still doing the same noise and hardly lifting the trailer. The landing gear will retract easily without the knocking/clicking noise. We do not believe that the shear pin is bad. Are you able to tell us if we need to replace the motor or any parts to the motor for this problem. My motor has this number on the bottom side - 75721. Please if you could help that would be great! Thanks, Tori

If the replacing the gear box didn't fix the problem, then as long as the internals of the legs themselves are still in good shape replacing the motor would be the next logical step. Before doing that, I'd use the crank to operate the landing gear manually to see if the noise still occurs. If it doesn't, then the motor is indeed the culprit. The correct replacement motor for your Atwood 75721 is part # LG-142178.
