Malfunctioning Right Turn Signal on Flat Towed 2006 Jeep Liberty and 2002 Winnebago Journey

Question:

I have a 2002 Winnebago Journey and am having issues with the right hand turn signal when connected to my toad vehicle. The coach is equipped with a Tow Ready Circuit Protected Converter and a 5 pin socket. Both appear to be prewired. The converter has pigtails on both the input and output sides. The 5 pin socket has about a 1 foot pigtail. Both are mounted on the lower rear frame rail. Id like to replace both parts. Do you carry these? Thank you

It sounds like more than anything there may just be a ground issue, so I would first recommend checking the ground wires on the tow vehicle to make sure that it is firmly secured to a paint and rust free surface. This could be the reason that you're experiencing an issue when the blinker is engaged when it's connected. I'd also check to make sure that none of the wires going to the right hand blinker are damaged and touching any metal on the vehicle.

If you check the wiring and still encounter this issue, you can use the Tow Ready # TR118821 to replace your existing wiring and has a 4 way connector on the end. If you also need a 7 way plug from your RV to the tow bar wiring you can use the Hopkins Heavy-Duty Trailer Coiled Wire Adapter for 7-Way to 4-Wire Flat # HM47065, which is a great choice because the coiled wire helps keep it away from the ground. This will be slightly different that your current 5 way connector, but it will work in the same manner and require less wiring.
