Bike Rack Solution for 2009 Acura MDX that is Towing Camper Trailer
Question:
I would like to tow a tear camper trailer that will weigh 1,500 lbs 120 lb tongue weight loaded and a also use a North Shore Bike Rack that will weigh 225 lbs loaded using this dual hitch receiver. Will this setup work for me? I was confused by the notes in the description: When mounting an accessory in this receiver, your hitchs tongue weight capacity will be reduced by 50 percent. When using both the ball mount and the receiver the tongue weight capacity is not affected.

The reduced weight capacity of the Curt # D210 when using it with an accessory in the upper opening like a bike rack makes it probably not your best solution but we do have a couple solutions for what you are looking for that I think you'll like. We have the bike rack bunk # CC-275 which attaches to the trailer frame channels and gives you a hitch opening above the propane tank area for a bike rack to mount.
Or we have the Lippert Jack-It # LC429756 that mounts under your a-frame jack and gives you a bike rack that is carried in the same area as the Bunk adapter. Both of these options do not affect the towing capacity of the vehicle they are used with.
