Brake Controller Wiring Harness Location on a 2013 Ford Explorer Limited
Question:
Vehicle came with factory installed tow package. What do I need to connect my Tekonsha P2? Where is factory plug located? A quick look under dash didnt find anything. A look under back behind drivers side wheel has cord package going into body. Any help appreciated. Thanks

On your 2013 Ford Explorer Limited, the factory brake control wiring harness should be located above and behind the hood release under the dash on the drivers side. To connect your P2 brake controller to the harness, you will need the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter, # 3035-P.
This adapter has one end that plugs into your P2 brake controller and a larger end that plugs into the 6 pin connector that should be located behind the glove box on the vehicles brake control harness. I have attached the installation instructions for the wiring adapter for you to check out.

Now the real story....The connector is on the drivers side, above the e-brake release handle. Dont tear the glove box assembly apart like I did to find nothing there. Its a gray connector and the 3035-p plugs right into it. The hardest part is drilling the two holes into a new SUV to mount the bracket. The P3 controller plugged rigth in and worked great!
