Hitch Fit for 1996 Nissan Maxima

Why THANK YOU KINDLY, MR. JAMESON C. BUT.... BEING A HUGE "DIY"er & Coming From A Long Line of Hick, RedNeck, "If It Don't Fit, FORCE IT!" Kinda Peops... Which Has Only Been MAGNIFIED By Being Married to A True "MEXICAN" & LIVING In A Little PUEBLITA In MEXICO Off & On for ~ 15 Years... My Mind Simply Cannot Seem to Wrap Itself Around WHY A UNIVERSAL, MULTI-FIT Will Not Work!!! I mean... Let's Face It... It's Very NATURE Is To FIT... Well... UNIVERSALLY... Is It NOT??? PLEASE RESPOND ASAP... BEFORE I ALLOW SOMEONE With An Even HARDER HEAD To Do Something that May Leave Me FLATTER THAN STANLEY... You are probably Too Young to Catch That Reference but GOOG IT... The only hitch fits we can guarantee will work on your 1996 Nissan Maxima will be custom fit hitches like the Curt part # C11255. The universal types of hitches are designed to attach totally differently than how the rear of your vehicle is setup which is why they wouldn't work well.

So the universal style hitches are designed to fit vehicles/trailers that use a standard frame setup with rails that run from front to back. Our hitch manufacturers have determined that your vehicle does not have rails to attach to which is why the hitch I mentioned attaches actually to the bumper beam and rear bumper. See attached picture. I looked up Flat Stanley and the first thing that popped up is "what is the point of Flat Stanley" haha.
