Can Electric Brakes Be Used On Single Axle Boat Trailer with 3,500 Lb Axle
Question:
I would like to convert my hydraulic surge brakes on my boat trailer to fully electric not electric over hydraulic. I have read conflicting statements about using electric brakes for marine applications. I only boat in fresh water, never salt, if that matters. So, should I convert to electric or not? single axle 3500 lb boat trailer Thanks,

It's fine to use electric brakes on boat trailers, many new boat trailers even come with them nowadays. That said it is recommended to unplug the trailer connector before launching but you should have been doing this anyhow. I have attached the parts needed below.
