Can the Shank On the Equal-i-zer Be Flipped for Use With a 2017 Toyota Sienna
Question:
Hi, I am trying to use my new 2017 Toyota Sienna XLE with my Equilizer weight distribution hitch and small RV. The hitch I buy from you will leave the hitch receiver top at just 13 inches over ground. The shank on Equilizer will that to about 5 inches. That’s too close for comfort. Can I invert the shank and rebolt the rest of Equilizer to gain some clearance? Or do you have other suggestions? Which hitch for under Sienna do you recommend for this application? Thanks,

Expert Reply:
The trailer hitch I recommend for a 2017 Toyota Sienna is the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76112 as it has a hidden design, is rated for use with a weight distribution system, and has a partial trailer connector mounting bracket.
In regards to using the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System part # EQ37060ET, you can invert the shank to provide a rise up to 7" so you won't have any issues with ground clearance.
