Trailer Wiring Recommendation for 2015 BMW X3

Question:

I would like to install a trailer hitch with wiring on my 2015 BMW X3. I do not care if the connector is showing and I wanted advice about what type of wiring system I should purchase. This is to tow a 13 ft sailboat. Total combined weight with trailer is probably not over 500 lbs. Thank you

The trailer wiring kit I recommend for your 2015 BMW X3 is the part # 119250KIT because this kit installs without splicing into your taillight circuits whereas most require cutting and splicing. This uses sensors instead.

For a hitch the Draw Tite part # 76226 is a really great option too that's mostly hidden and has plenty of towing capacity.

If you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
