Will Convert-A-Ball Cushioned Ball Mount # AMSC2 Work for a 3000 lb Sunline Camper

Question:

I have a Nissan Frontier and a 3000 lb Sunline camper trailer. Will the below mentioned product take the jerkiness out of towing it or will it be too rigid being rated for 10000 lbs. Cushioned Ball Mount for 2 Hitches - 3/4 Rise - 2 Drop - 10,000 lbs Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount

If the jerking you are referring to is the fore and aft movement of your existing ballmount in the receiver, then the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned Ball Mount would certainly help to reduce that. Though the ball mount has a 10,000 lb capacity, the cushioning would still be effective for a 3000 lb camper.

If the jerking is primarily caused by slop, which is a ballmount that fits loosely in the receiver allowing some up/down and side to side play, an anti-rattle device like the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch, part # RM-061 would work better for you.

To determine which issue is causing your problem, grab the ballmount while its installed and see if more movement is allowed front to back or up and down and side to side.
