There are a few different things you can do to troubleshoot the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 not recognizing the trailer. Start off by making sure your tow vehicle socket and your trailer connector are both clean and free of corrosion. If they look good then the next step I'd take is using a circuit tester like part # PTW2992 and checking that the black wire for the P3 has constant 12V power and then the red wire gets hot when you press your brake pedal. If those don't work then you'll need to check the wiring for the power and make sure that your red wire is connected to the correct circuit.
If those circuits are working how they are supposed to then you'll need to make sure that brake controller has a solid connection to your tow vehicle 7-Way. Test the blue wire about 6" from the controller and use the manual override to make sure that it sends out the max power. If it does then perform this same test on the brake controller pin for your 7-Way socket (see attached).
If all of that looks good then you'll move on to your trailer and basically just check all of your wiring for any damage and make sure your grounds are connected to a clean, bare-metal surface.
Let me know if you're still having issues and I can help you troubleshoot further.
