Pin Box Upgrade for 2020 VanLeigh Beacon 39 FBB For Best Turning Clearance

Question:

I have a 2020 VanLeigh Beacon 39 FBB.I am buying a GMC 3500 dually Long box and want to makesure I have enough clearance from the box rails to the camper and when turning don’t want to hit the sides of the box.What is the best pin box to buy?

For best clearance the Sidewinder part # RP34FR is the way to go as it moves the pivot point back 22-1/2 inches as you go to make turns. Now for vertical clearance between the bed rails and trailer overhang that comes down to the height of the hitch installed and what height it would take for the trailer to sit level. You ideally need the trailer to sit as level as possible and also have at least 6 inches between the rails and trailer overhang. This height is not dependent on the king pin though and instead the hitch height.
